Unlike most stackable washer and dryer appliances, the Frigidaire GLEH1642FS Stackable Washer and Dryer features a front-loading washer. Like its siblings under the Frigidaire name, it is a slim appliance with a small footprint that can easily fit into the tight spaces of urban apartments and condo units.

Although it is slim, it has an extra large washing capacity at 3.1 cu. ft. Washing is done in a horizontal stainless steel drum that is accessed through a round glass door. The washer employs a tumble care cleaning system that is gentle on your clothes.

It features 16 wash cycles which means that the machine can be programmed to suit the specific type of fabric you are washing as well as the intensity of the wash. Among these are Delicate, Heavy, Pre-wash, Quick, Short, Soak, and Extra Rinse cycles. At the end of each cycle, the machine emits an audible signal. Spin speeds vary from 450, through 650 and 850, to 950 RPM.

The Frigidaire GLEH1642FS Stackable Washer and Dryer has containers for detergents, bleach, and fabric softeners. These are automatically dispensed into the wash drum at intervals depending on the wash cycle you set. This eliminates guesswork in the timing and amount of chemicals added to your laundry.

Additional features of the washer are a self-cleaning lint filter, a door lock light, and a sound silencer plus which keeps the washer from waking up the entire neighborhood if you do your washing in the early morning or late at night.

The capacity of the dryer is 5.7 cu. ft. Like the washer, its dryer drum is also made of stainless steel. It has four auto dry cycles –Regular, Permanent Press, Knits, and Delicates.  You can, however, manually set the dryer choosing dry time and heat level at low, medium, or high. You can even opt for no heat. Also like the washer, a signal is heard at the end of the cycles.

The washer and dryer measures approximately 75" high, 27" wide, and 31" deep.
