It is a stackable unit with a top-loading washer and a gas-powered dryer.
The washer has a porcelain washer basket type that has a capacity of 2.7 cubic feet. It has a spin only washer cycle, and a one wash/spin speed combination, providing consistent washing performance. There are three wash/rinse temperatures you can choose from depending on the type of fabrics being washed. You can also choose from three settings the water level that is appropriate to the size of your laundry, thus minimizing the waste of water.
There are nine washer cycles including heavy, medium, and light soil for regular fabrics and permanent press. There is also a medium soil option for the delicates cycle. With these choices, you can adjust the machine's electromechanical controls that turn in either direction to the setting appropriate to your clothes' fabrics, and their level of soiling.
The dryer, on the other hand, has a capacity of 5.5 cubic feet. It has three cycles that include auto permanent press, delicates, and timed dry up to 90 minutes. It is factory fitted to run on natural gas but an optional conversion kit is available to change this to liquefied petroleum gas or LPG.
The casing of the GE Unitized Spacemaker WSM2780HWW Laundry Center is made of steel and is colored white. Underneath the case is a Quiet-by-Design insulation system that muffles the sound of the motor, thus allowing you to run it without disturbing your family or neighbors.
