Although more popular in Europe than in the United States, all-in-one washer and dryers, or combo washer dryers, are slowly gaining a foothold in the American market. This is especially true with small families or individuals living in small apartments or condominiums where space might be an issue.
Among the available combo washer dryers in the market is the LG WM3431HS All-In-One Washer and Dryer. This is a small appliance measuring only 23.375" W x 25.375" D x 33.25" H but it incorporates both a washer and a dryer, eliminating the need for two machines occupying more real estate, and the need to transfer washed clothes to another machine. It is front-loading with a circular clear glass door trimmed with chrome. The control panel is located above the door.
The drum of the washer and dryer is made of stainless steel and has a capacity of 2.44 cu. ft. It is rotated by a direct drive motor with a maximum spin speed of 1,400 RPM. It does not require a venting system as it uses a water-based condenser for drying. For this reason, it can be easily moved from one location to another. Indeed, it can even be installed in an RV.
The WM3431HS has sensors designed to make washing easier for both you and your clothes. It has a SenseClean System that adjusts water and wash times to protect your fabric from excessive spinning. It also has a Sensor Dry System that detects the amount of moisture in the drum and sets drying time and temperature accordingly.
Nine washing programs allow you to wash different types of fabrics including towels, permanent press, wool, and silk. There are also five temperature levels for clothes that need to be washed either in hot, warm, or cold water. Dry times can be set ranging from 30 to 150 minutes.
